Guernsey County Sheriff Jeffrey Paden announced that the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (SRT), with assistance from the Cambridge Police Department SWAT Team, executed a search warrant at a property described as a compound located on a large acreage on Main Street in Kimbolton during the early morning hours of Wednesday, May 20, 2026, shortly before 2:30 a.m.
Investigators with the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office and the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement (CODE) Task Force obtained the search warrant following a lengthy investigation into suspected drug trafficking activity occurring from the property over the past several months.
During the search of the property, investigators recovered a bulk amount of methamphetamine, evidence consistent with drug trafficking activity, and several firearms located inside the residences on the property.
As a result of the investigation, Charles “Chuck” Stone, 51, of Kimbolton, Ohio, has been charged with the following offenses:
• Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs, a felony of the second degree
• Aggravated Possession of Drugs, a felony of the second degree
• Aggravated Possession of Drugs, a felony of the third degree
• Having Weapons While Under Disability, a felony of the third degree
Stone remains in custody at the Guernsey County Jail awaiting his initial appearance in Cambridge Municipal Court on Friday, May 22, 2026.
This investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be filed against other individuals.
Sheriff Paden praised the investigators involved for their continued efforts in combating the drug epidemic within Guernsey County and thanked the Cambridge Police Department for their assistance during the operation.
